Gay Fight

Steve Stone: did you ever notice how only pervy freaky weirdies refer to themselves as living a “lifestyle”
Steve Stone: like the gay, or transsexual, or swinger “lifestyle”
Steve Stone: what’s up with that
Sarah Valentine: well what would you call it?
Steve Stone: a hobby
Sarah Valentine: you think being gay is a hobby?

Steve Stone: a pastime? No I guess really it’s a sexual preference… but you never hear people say their living the straight lifestyle
Sarah Valentine: everybody has a lifestyle
Sarah Valentine: regardless of whether they call it that or not
Sarah Valentine: the way they live is their lifestyle
Steve Stone: but I’m saying WHY do some people choose to call their choices a “lifestyle” and others don’t
Steve Stone: seems strange to me
Sarah Valentine: it’s because people living the so called “normal” lifestyles don’t consider alternative lifestyles to be acceptable
Sarah Valentine: so they want to emphasize that it IS a lifestyle and not a choice
Steve Stone: well that would explain gays… but what about the swinger lifestyle?
Steve Stone: why not just say that they’re swingers?
Sarah Valentine: I don’t know
Steve Stone: why does every weirdie have to be living a lifestyle?
Sarah Valentine: I guess it’s like you say tom-aye-to I say tom-ah-to
Steve Stone: no… i don’t think it’s anything like that… and I will eventually get to the bottom of this
Steve Stone: how do you like my use of the word “weirdie”
Steve Stone: I just love that word
Sarah Valentine: I don’t appreciate it
Steve Stone: what? why?
Sarah Valentine: because I don’t think gay people are weird
Sarah Valentine: or “weirdies”
Steve Stone: yeah they are… weird means doing something that is not normal… the vast majority of people are not gay, so if you are gay you are weird
Sarah Valentine: no
Steve Stone: I think weird is better sounding that abnormal
Sarah Valentine: if you’re not in the majority, you’re a minority
Steve Stone: and in my opinion if you’re under about 10% your’e weird
Sarah Valentine: that’s like saying there aren’t as many black people in America as white people, so black people are weird
Steve Stone: no it isn’t
Steve Stone: being black is not a choice
Sarah Valentine: neither is being gay
Steve Stone: I’m not gay, but I could choose to have sexy sex with a guy, making me gay
Steve Stone: see how that works
Steve Stone: choice
Steve Stone: MAYBE… some people are born gay. I just seem to doubt it
Sarah Valentine: no, that would make you bisexual
Steve Stone: so bisexuality is a choice?
Sarah Valentine: no
Steve Stone: oh and, you’re not so funny when your mad.
Steve Stone: don’t be mad
Steve Stone: be gay
Sarah Valentine: I’m so mad right now
Steve Stone: I can tell
Steve Stone: that’s gay
Sarah Valentine: no it’s not
Steve Stone: tell me a joke
Sarah Valentine: what’s the hardest thing about rollerblading?
Steve Stone: being gay?
Sarah Valentine: telling your parents you’re gay
Steve Stone: lol
Steve Stone: is being a tranny a choice?
Sarah Valentine: most trannies believe that they were born the wrong gender
Sarah Valentine: so for them I don’t think it’s a choice
Sarah Valentine: but we all have our own opinions
Sarah Valentine: and I don’t think we should talk about this anymore
Steve Stone: sorry, I like debating… I feel like I learn from it, like for instance I’m starting to consider that being gay might be a choice, when I never would have before… But I can understand if it makes you uncomfortable
Steve Stone: we don’t have to talk about our opinions
Sarah Valentine: I’m not uncomfortable, I’m angry
Steve Stone: why? people having different opinions than you make you angry?
Sarah Valentine: no, I get angry because it’s a really unfair issue
Steve Stone: I don’t know what that means, but we can leave it at that if you want
Sarah Valentine: I just think that gays don’t have the same rights as straight people which is total bullshit
Sarah Valentine: I love gay people, but I would never want one of my children to be gay
Sarah Valentine: because of all of the discrimination they face
Steve Stone: I think gays should have the same rights as straight people too…
Steve Stone: and I agree, i do not want my kids to be gay!
Steve Stone: because I want grandkids
Sarah Valentine: adoption…
Steve Stone: well then I just don’t want my kids to be gay
Steve Stone: not that I will hate them if they are or anything
Steve Stone: but it’s just not the thing I am hoping for, if you know what I mean

I’ve actually changed a lot since this conversation, I am very accepting of gay people now (I was pretty accepting before, but still, more so now). Nature/Nurture - I have no opinion on that now! How can you tell? Why should I care?
